What a fantastic way to cap off the year! The Small Yacht Cruising Club (SYCC) of Pittwater celebrated its annual Christmas Lunch at the beautiful Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) on Friday, December 6th.
A Truly Hot Occasion!
The day certainly lived up to the Australian summer reputation! With soaring temperatures, it was a VERY HOT DAY, but that didn't deter the festive spirit! A dedicated crew of 24 members turned out for the party, bringing tremendous energy and good cheer.
The atmosphere at RPAYC was excellent. It was wonderful to see everyone catching up, sharing a delicious lunch, and reminiscing about memorable moments and recent adventures out on the water. These shared memories are what truly make our club special.
Seeking the Cool Breeze
Thankfully, the club provided a much-needed sanctuary! After lunch, we wisely retreated into the blessed air-conditioned area. That move made the afternoon significantly more comfortable and allowed the celebrations to continue in style. It was a long and lovely affair, finally winding up around 5 pm—a five-hour lunch well spent!
A Special Surprise for Bob
A personal highlight was the presentation of the SYCC Participation Trophy for 2025! I was genuinely surprised and incredibly honoured to receive it. Thank you to the committee and all members for this wonderful recognition—it truly means a lot.
Enjoy the Cooler Day ahead but not for to long!
It's amazing what a difference a day makes. Today, the temperature is a blissful 10–12 degrees cooler!
To all our members, please keep up the fantastic participation in our club events and cruises. We hope to see most of our sailors out enjoying the beautiful Pittwater waters over the Christmas and New Year break.
Thank you to everyone who made the Christmas lunch such a brilliant success.
Enjoy the holidays,
Bob & Simone
